Painting embracing the idea of recycling/repurposing material. The textured background is created with used coffee grounds.
The conversation in the artwork also has a lot to do with excess and limits in that, I only use coffee grounds that come from my kitchen.The work therefore becomes more about fully utilising what I use everyday. I am thinking of going around collecting coffee grounds from various coffeeshops and restaurants to created pieces that talk about mass consumption.
The title is an interesting play on the word "occupy" and its phonetic break down which would give us Oak (natural) U (Letter of the alphabet -Slang for "you" and Pie (Food)...
